No, I run a personal mail server too and had no difficulty getting listed.

Let me observe that .xyz is an ugly extension for an email server.  I have a 
generic block for that extension, as well as for .top, .pro, .icu, .cyou and 
other TLDs which have been selling names by the thousands.
